IARC Scientific Council meets via web conference

The Fifty-Ninth Session of the Scientific Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is taking place on 8–10 February 2023. This session of the Scientific Council is being held remotely via web conference, due to uncertainty during the preparation of the session about what measures would be in place to control the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fifty-Seventh and Fifty-Eighth Sessions were also held remotely.

The Scientific Council will review key areas of IARC’s research programme.

This session of the Scientific Council is chaired by Dr Manami Inoue of Japan.
